Our Experts
Beth H. Land, MBA, CEcD
President and Founder
-
After graduating from Clemson during the recession, Beth found herself on a CNC machine shop floor surrounded by seasoned professionals. While it wasn’t her initial choice, it proved to be the perfect start for her career.
She fell in love with manufacturing—learning everything from reading blueprints to implementing ISO 9001 standards, staffing, and more. Not coming from a consulting background has given her a practical, first-hand understanding of the daily challenges manufacturers face.
Later, after moving back to her hometown she was introduced to economic development, working for York County in South Carolina to recruit manufacturing companies. This role ignited a passion within her, as she saw how large corporate and manufacturing projects can be an economic engine for communities, helping them thrive.
During her time in York County, she completed her MBA with Wake Forest University, wanting to gain a better understanding of what drives business decisions for companies.
She then transitioned to the private sector, joining a well-known boutique firm in the site selection and economic development space, McCallum Sweeney Consulting.
There, she learned the fundamentals and gained a more technical, engineering-focused perspective on helping companies and communities make sound location decisions.
Following McCallum Sweeney’s closure in 2018, Beth joined Site Selection Group (SSG), and managed the southeastern presence in Greenville, SC. This experience provided access to a national platform and allowed her to manage a high volume of industrial projects.
After relocating to Manhattan and taking a sabbatical year to re-align her sense of purpose, Beth moved back to the Upstate of South Carolina and founded Land Strategies.
Beth is committed to using her expertise to positively impact communities by bringing people and projects together.
